Handmade African Black Soap
Let us introduce to you with one of Ghana's best kept secrets ... a holistic treat for your face, body and hair. Yes handmade African Black Soap is also very good on your hair having natural oils and minerals that leave it feeling soft and clean. The original African Organic Black Soap, known as Alata Samina is a solid soap that is naturally antiseptic.. It is made from 100% vegetable matter, unlike most modern soap that is derived from animal remains.  African Organic Black Soap is one of the healthiest soaps for the skin, due to the purity and simplicity of the ingredients. It cleanses while moisturising with its nourishing balance of ingredients.

Traditionally Ghanaian handmade African Organic Black Soap predominately contains Coco Pods, palm kernel oil and other select ingredients. Most products out there use Plantain rather than Coco as a cheaper substitute. Coco pods which themselves are high in minerals and with the addition of Shea butter and honey to some of our products you can ensure that they are loaded with essential vitamins, minerals and antioxidants. Their colour is due to the natural ingredients they are made from and our products are free, except for the medicated blue, from dyes, soda, charcoal, artificial perfumes, animal products and animal derivatives and it is therefore, also suitable for vegans. There are no added chemicals, no preservatives it's all due to the saponification and other hand processes .. And finally, our products are never tested on animals.

All of our products are imported directly from Bawjiase in the Central Region Ghana Africa Our team of dedicated staff both here and most importantly in Ghana ensure we can source you 'Just In Time' freshly made product which has a no minimum shelf life, although they like to be kept away from moisture.

How to Store your Black African Soap

Pure traditional African black soap is a soft milled soap and has very high natural glycerine content. As a result, it readily absorbs moisture from the air. It must be stored in a dry location or in a sealed plastic bag or it will become soft as it absorbs moisture. Black soap exposed to the air will have a thin white coloured film. This film is not mould it is caused by absorption of water from the air. This can be avoided by keeping the soap in a dry location away from moisture until ready for use.
