The Secret to Healthy Skin!

The skin is the largest organ in the body.  Actually, it is more than that, it is a complete biological system and needs to be looked after to maintain a healthy look.. Something that is important to us all ...The skin really does need special attention. Our idea was to bring you a range of skin products to keep your whole skin in tip top condition. Some are ideal for specific parts such as the face or for certain conditions such as scarring, or irritations and others are more for everyday use.

Our Organic African Black Soap products are sourced from suppliers of old .. Well at least 3 generations on record in Ghana and before that the secret came from Nigeria.  They are all handmade using traditional methods using well known ingredients.  The key ingredients we use in our products are all 100% natural and include Coco pods, Kernel Palm Oil, Shea Butter, Honey and Water.  We do not use cheaper alternatives such as plantain, and other modern additives.  All ingredients are harvested from the tropical regions of Ghana, which means no nasty man made chemicals, preservatives or additives whatsoever. It also means that we try to source ethical & fairly traded ingredients because we firmly believe in responsibility & sustainability.

We source all our products directly from the Bawjiase or Boguasi region, as it is referred to in the west.  This is the traditional home of African Black Soap in Ghana.  Our products are all handmade to order and shipped directly to the UK to ensure they are as fresh as possible when they reach you.  Some of our soaps such as the Alata Samina range are enriched with unrefined Shea butter for its nourishing, smoothing and moisturising properties; some of the formulations have different concentrations of the Shea, used during their production.  Others such as Kotokoli are pure soaps mixed with specials barks to give them their individual properties and resultant effects.

In the first stage of the production process the Coco pods and bark are sun-dried and then roasted in a kettle or pot at an even, constant temperature, which is important to ensure colour, texture and smell. Then water and various oils such as
palm kernel oil are added to the mixture and stirred for at least a day. After that, the " African Black Soap" is left to set for two weeks to cure. Varieties of Black Soap actually made in Africa tend to be pure, while soaps made in Europe or the US tend to have added artificial ingredients.

Renowned for its health benefits, our Organic African Black Soap is one of the healthiest soaps for the skin due to the purity and simplicity of the ingredients which are loaded with essential vitamins, minerals and antioxidants. The soap cleanses while moisturising the skin with its nourishing balance of ingredients.

This powerful combination has traditionally been used to treat eczema, acne, oily skin, psoriasis, and other skin ailments.  It further helps to balance skin tone and improve skin texture. Daily use of the line will result in cleaner, clearer, healthier skin.
